Concept:
Aperture Magazine is a compact, trend-focused publication celebrating the art of instant-film photography. Designed to appeal to teenagers and young adults, the magazine combines editorial content, interviews, and original photography to create a vibrant connection with its audience.
Approach:
To resonate with the aesthetic preferences of a younger demographic, I centered the magazine’s visual style on relatable imagery and themes. The photography featured real people within the target age group, complemented by illustrations and design elements that align with modern youth culture. Every detail, from the typography to the layout, was carefully crafted to reflect the nostalgic yet contemporary appeal of instant-film photography.
Final Product:
Using Adobe InDesign as the primary tool and incorporating elements from Illustrator, I developed a polished magazine brand that captures the spirit of instant-film enthusiasts. The final product includes dynamic articles on emerging photography trends, an engaging interview with a photographer, original instant-film photos, and mock advertisements. Together, these elements create a cohesive and visually engaging publication that appeals to both the photography and teen communities.
